Resplendent Riverfront Residence

The Gold Coast is offering up one of its most magnificent estates this month with a Riverfront mansion in Southport with unrivalled views of Main Beach and Surfers Paradise.

The current owners acquired the property in 1998. Initially they retained the original home on the property, but went on to design and build the home of their dreams in 2009.

“Now that the family has now grown and the children are about to leave home, the current owners have chosen to downsize,” says agent Michael Vettoretto.

The grand home is on its own private white sandy beach on the banks of the Nerang River. Designed around a central Italian style courtyard this gracious residence has been thoughtfully planned to allow for intimate spaces for small gatherings, as well as lavish entertaining on a grand scale.

It includes a range of formal and informal living rooms, including a classically decorated dining room with a private butler’s entry, a gracious formal lounge room with music alcove and adjoining bar, traditionally decorated billiard room, a well appointed circular kitchen with a cold room and butler’s storage room, an art deco inspired home theatre with tiered seating and a built in bar, and an entertaining atrium with a second kitchen.

It also includes a gated entrance with a sweeping drive, an elegant foyer with a stately double sweeping staircase, a separate guest suite, a cloakroom, a home office, a double height study with a mezzanine library, and a private sports pavilion with a swimming pool, spa, gym, sauna, and steam room.

The estate boasts lift access to all levels, keyless entry, private massage room, five-car basement garage, an additional self-contained housekeeper’s unit, and a pontoon and jetty suitable for helicopter use.
