I'll have a Terrace on The Rocks
Five grand terrace homes, which combine a classical architectural pedigree with contemporary design, will redefine the meaning of gracious living in the Sydney’s historic heart.
The seven-metre wide terraces, named The Reynell Terraces, have been built above the heritage-listed Walter Reynell & Sons building in The Rocks, providing filtered views through Gloucester Street’s elegant canopy of trees.
“The Reynell Terraces combine the vibrancy of New York, the leafy charms of Paris, the urban sophistication of London and the true heritage of Sydney,” said Murray Wood of Colliers International.
The Walter Reynell & Sons building was completed in 1913 and represents the last phase of warehouse and light industrial development in the Sydney CBD. It has heavy brick piers, ornate brick arches and formal entrances, while inside the solid timber beams, columns and design integrity have been preserved.
The architecture, by the award-winning Kann Finch Group, fuses classical elements with penthouse-style finishes. Each residence is a modern interpretation of the much-loved Victorian terrace, and feature open-plan kitchens with stone benchtops and Miele appliances, bathrooms and ensuites with veined Carrara marble, separate study or media alcove, and two secure car spaces.
The development includes dramatic features such as a timber-clad, triple-storey, 8 metre-high glass atrium that bathes the interiors in natural light, and a top level sanctuary with barbecue facilities, elegant outdoor furniture, privacy screens, landscaping, shade trees and excellent views.
Residents also have the services of a concierge, and use of an indoor heated lap pool and gymnasium located in the inter-connected Stamford Residences Tower.
Mr Wood says The Reynell Terraces combine two of Sydney’s great loves – terrace living and The Rocks – providing a rare opportunity to live sumptuously in the heart of the CBD.
“They have plenty of space and storage, good security, and the location is energising,” said Mr Wood.
The Reynell Terraces adjoin the 30-storey, 122-apartment Stamford Residences, which is the last approved high-rise development in The Rocks Urban Conservation Area. Demand has been extraordinary, with only seven of these luxurious apartments remaining.
There are four three-bedroom, four-bathroom terraces, and one two-bedroom, three-bathroom terrace. Prices start at around $4 Million.
