A rare sighting at Albatross

One of Australia’s most exclusive beachfront addresses, Albatross Avenue in Queensland’s Mermaid Beach, hits the spotlight once again this month as two luxury villas, developed by Rod Lambert, go to Auction.

The villas were built by Vitto Ulliana Constructions in late 2009 with a no-expense spared mentality, creating what is now a modern architectural triumph.

The property was custom designed by MSP Architects Sydney to promote the absolute beachfront location and provide an integrated relationship with the outdoors.

Villa 1 has a ground floor living area stretching across the 13.4 metre beachfront with private lap pool, sauna and a 151 square metre landscaped garden spilling to the beach.

Villa 2 has a second level living area spanning the 13.4 metre beachfront plus a roof terrace, with pool and spa, and captures view of the beach, coast, and hinterlands.

“It is a rare opportunity to have an 863 square metre land area, with 13.8 metre beach frontage, located at one of Australia’s most sought after addresses. The wider beach frontage just simply isn’t available very often on this stretch of beach,” says Carol Carter, Coldwell Banker Carter Real Estate.

Complementing the contemporary and clean design scheme is travertine marble and rich dark timber floors, custom made cabinetry with accents of lacquered veneer, Brandy Santos timber and chocolate Emperador marble.

Both villas include four bedrooms, five bathrooms, guests powder room, theatre, open plan living and dining areas, designer kitchen, C-Bus system, office, and gymnasium.

Each villa also includes a four-car basement garage with turntable for effortless parking and private storage room. Villa 2 also benefits from an elevator for easy access from the basement to all levels including the roof terrace.

Johnny's no Tourist

After spending the most part of last year in Venice filming his latest movie ‘The Tourist’ with Angelina Jolie, American actor Johnny Depp has reportedly bought his own slice of the famous floating neighbourhood as a holiday house.

The Daily Mail reported that ‘Palazzo Donà Sangiantoffetti’ is located in the Santa Croce region and looks directly over the Grand Canal.

The actor, 47, who paid for £8.58million for the property, reportedly only bought the property after a bidding war against an Arab Prince.

Depp and his French singer/actress partner Vanessa Paradis, and their two children Lily-Rose, eleven, and Jack, eight, spend most of their home-life at their 50 acre farmhouse in France. They also own numerous other properties, including homes in Hawaii, West Hollywood, Somerset, and a 45-acre island in the Bahamas.
