Cowdray Park House for $41.7 million
A stunning 19th Century British country mansion if for sale for over $40 million.
Cowdray Park House, located in West Sussex, has sparked a lot of interest amongst Australia’s elite, and is reportedly of interest to Australian billionaire, James Packer.
Packer, a well known polo enthusiast, as well as his late father, Kerry Packer, have spent many days at Cowdray Park’s Polo Club and already owns the neighbouring property where he developing a state-of-the-art 132.5 hectare private polo complex of his own.
Lord Cowdray, the current owner of Cowdray Park House, originally planned to turn the estate into a country house hotel, however, has chosen to downsize to a more modest house at Fernhurst where he and his wife, Marina, lived before he inherited the property in 1995.
The 4,100 square metre mansion features thirteen bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The 110 acre grounds include landscaped gardens, two lakes, pasture and woodland, three pairs of cottages and four stable-block flats, pony paddocks, swimming pools, tennis court, cricket pitch and polo practice grounds.
