A heavenly piece of Malvern's history
A piece of Melbourne’s history is being sold in the Melbourne suburb of Malvern.
The Bluestone chapel was built between 1856 and 1869 on part of the ‘Rosehill Estate’, which the house was named after. The property was purchased by a squatter named Thomas Cumming in 1880 and has since been home to many notable personalities, including Walter Henry Lewis - a solicitor and the Lord Mayor of Malvern, Alexander Creswick - a horseman and amateur jockey, Essingtgn Lewis - a Managing Director of BHP, and the Australian Red Cross.
“To say this home has the wow factor would be an understatement. I doubt there is another home in Melbourne like this,” says agent Kevin O'Brien.
Today, a stunning Robert Mills renovation offers spectacular refined living, and includes three bedrooms, central bathroom, powder room, gourmet kitchen, a luxurious family domain, Tuscan-style terrace, parquetry floors, two gas fireplaces, video security, double basement parking, and city views.
