$20 million apartment: Not going for a song
English composer, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, is selling his New York duplex for over $20 million.
The home is situated on the 59th and 60th floors, high above Manhattan on the famed Fifth Avenue. Spread over 5,300 square feet, the residence includes four bedrooms and six bathrooms.
Views of the Central Park are available from nearly every room, as well as southern and western vistas that reach as far as the Statue of Liberty and the Hudson River.
The 62 year old started composing at the age of six, and published his first piece at the age of nine. He achieved great success penning such musical masterpieces as ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Evita’, ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ and ‘Cats’. Over the years, he’s been decorated with seven Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, fourteen Ivor Novello Awards, seven Olivier Awards, and a Golden Globe.
