The Melburnian Penthouse sold for $15million
The highly anticipated sale of one of Melbourne’s highest priced apartments has finalised with an epic price tag of $15million. Sold to L.U. Simon director, Peter Devitt, the sale cements new boundaries for the city housing prices and is a preview of apartment sales to come.
The Australian owned and privately held company, L.U. Simon was founded in 1955. Devitt originally joined the building company as an Estimator in 1968. His role evolved to Chief Estimator in 1974 and subsequently onto Director in 1983.
According to reports, Devitt purchased the apartment as a birthday present for his wife and ceremoniously handed her the keys at a recent birthday celebration held at Silks restaurant at Crown.
"It is a superb result - though not entirely unexpected. We had sourced most of the interested parties from our national and international databases, which meant we already knew this apartment was a potential fit for them both personally and financially. That removed a lot of the guesswork and as a result we were able to get straight on with the business of selling and achieve an outstanding result in a relatively short space of time" said Mr Savas of Kay & Burton.
The two-story penthouse, described as Melbourne's most opulent, features breathtaking 335 degree views of the cityscape, the Royal Botanic Gardens and Port Philip Bay. It includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, spa and sauna retreat, home office, private cinema, internal elevator, wine cellar, 400sqm of expansive garden, heated pool, an entertainment area with four terraces, three car garage, and a 24 hour concierge.
